I applied through the company's job portal. I completed an Online Assessment (OA) which included two problems: one on minimum operations to make the second half of a string an anagram of the first, and another on flipping signs of array elements within given ranges. After the OA, I received a call for cohort hiring, which consisted of 3 back-to-back interview rounds. Coding + Code Review Round: I reviewed a piece of code, focusing on aspects like variable naming, exception handling, enum usage, code reuse, and synchronization/locking. For the coding part, I solved the 'telephone circular dial' problem, aiming to find the minimum total cost to input a string of digits on a circular dial. HLD (High-Level Design) Round: I was asked to design a Rate Limiter. During the discussion, I initially proposed a sliding window counter method, explaining that an approximation would suffice. However, the interviewer steered towards a stricter implementation, requiring a sliding window log method, which I acknowledged would use more memory. Behavioral Round: I answered several questions regarding my projects and how I handled various situations. Verdict: I presume I was rejected as I never received an update after the interviews, and the HR became unresponsive. All communication primarily occurred via JPMC system-generated emails, and HR never shared their direct email.
