Completed an Online Assessment on HackerRank with 3 DSA problems (two LeetCode Medium, one LeetCode Hard with 9/15 test cases passed). Underwent 2 technical interview rounds, each following a pattern of Introduction → Behavioral (~10 min) → DSA Problem → Discussion. Round 1 involved a HashMap-based problem, where I focused on understanding, optimizing, and discussing complexities, implementing the solution successfully in the final 15 minutes. Round 2 presented a significantly harder grid-based problem involving gas spread and safe reachability, intended to be solved with multi-source BFS combined with binary search. Despite the second round's code having minor logical mistakes and producing incorrect output, I still received the offer. My key takeaway was that Uber evaluated clarity of thought, communication, and approach to unfamiliar problems rather than perfect code or memorized solutions.
