Summary

Interview experience for Infosys DSE role involving coding questions, resume-based technical discussion, and fundamental concepts.

Full Experience

I appeared for the Infosys DSE role interview on 9th May 2026. Sharing my experience here in case it helps someone.

First, all the candidates selected for the DSE role were asked to sit in a room. Around 10 candidates were taken at a time, and everyone was seated with enough distance between each other to avoid cheating.

We were then given 2 coding questions and around 15 minutes to solve them on pen and paper. The interviewer specifically mentioned that he was looking for the most optimal approach.

Questions asked:

  1. Move all the zeros in an array to one end. (He did not specify left or right.)
  2. Find the second maximum element in an array.

After that, the sheets were collected in the order in which candidates submitted them, and interviews started one by one. Each interview lasted around 10 minutes maximum.

In my interview, the interviewer directly asked me to explain the code I had written instead of asking for an introduction. After I explained both solutions, he went through my resume.

Since I had mentioned React in my resume, he asked:

  • Do you know React?
  • How would you optimize the performance of a website?

I had also mentioned Google OAuth, so he asked some surface-level questions about OAuth 2.0. In general, whatever technologies or keywords I had written on my resume (OAuth, bcrypt, etc.), he asked basic conceptual questions related to them, usually with at most one follow-up question.

There were also a few Object-Oriented Programming questions:

  • How do you instantiate a class?
  • Questions on compile-time and runtime polymorphism.

He also asked a few JavaScript questions, though I do not remember them clearly now.

There was no HR round for the DSE role, only this single technical round. After all the interviews were completed, we were asked to leave, and they informed us that the results would be communicated later.

Overall, the interview felt more resume-based and fundamentals-oriented rather than deep DSA-heavy.

Interview Questions (2)

1.

Move Zeros to End

Data Structures & Algorithms·Easy

Given an integer array, move all zeroes to one end (either left or right) while maintaining the relative order of non-zero elements. The solution should be optimized.

2.

Find Second Maximum Element

Data Structures & Algorithms·Easy

Given an unsorted integer array, find the second largest element in the array. Handle duplicates appropriately.
