Broccoli AI Interview Experience

Summary
I interviewed at Broccoli AI, completed a resume discussion and a system design round where I was asked to design a feature flag system, and was rejected after the second round.
How it went
Broccoli AI - Interview Experience
Round 1: Resume Discussion - 30 minutes
The interviewer discussed my resume and asked me to explain a project in detail, followed by questions about the implementation and design decisions. Be prepared to discuss any project mentioned on your resume.
Round 2: System Design - 60 minutes
Problem: Design a Feature Flag System
Design a system that allows engineering teams to turn features on and off in production without deploying code.
The design needed to cover both:
- Control plane: Where teams create flags, configure rollout rules, and enable or disable features.
- Data plane: Where running services evaluate calls such as
flags.isEnabled("checkout_v2", userId)to decide which code path to execute.
Result: Rejected after Round 2
I was able to present a system design, but I felt the interviewer was not very engaged during the discussion. This was my personal impression; I do not know the specific reason for the rejection.

Design a Feature Flag System
System Design
Design a system that allows engineering teams to turn features on and off in production without deploying code. The design should include a control plane where teams can create flags, configure rollout rules, and enable/disable features, and a data plane where running services evaluate calls such as
flags.isEnabled("checkout_v2", userId)to decide which code path to execute.
