Summary
I cleared the Infosys DSE interview process, which included a virtual coding assessment, onsite coding round, and technical interview, and I received an offer.
How it went
Hi everyone! Sharing my Infosys DSE interview experience. Hope this helps someone preparing for the process.
1. Virtual Coding Assessment
The first round was a virtual coding assessment, which I attempted from home. I was able to clear this round and was shortlisted for the next stage.
2. Onsite Coding Round
After clearing the virtual assessment, I was invited for an onsite coding round.
There were multiple coding questions, and I was able to solve one of them successfully and 2nd and 3rd partially. After this round, I was shortlisted for the interview.
3. Technical Interview
The interview started with coding. I was given coding questions and was able to solve one of them during the interview under 20 min. I solved the 1st problem with all testcases passed then moved on to other technical topics.
Some of the questions/topics discussed were:
SQL
-
Write a query to find the 10th highest salary.
-
I explained multiple approaches, including using LIMIT and OFFSET, as well as using the DENSE_RANK()
OOP / SOLID
-
Questions on SOLID principles
-
Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
System Design / Architecture
-
Monolithic architecture vS Microservices
-
Basic understanding of when and why these architectures are used.
Technical Libraries
-
Questions about libraries and technologies mentioned in my resume, including NumPy and OpenCV
-
Why I used them and where they were used in my projects
The interview was quite interactive, and most of the questions were based on things I had mentioned in my resume.
Result
After the interview process, I was happy to receive the Infosys DSE selection.
My advice to anyone preparing
For this interview, I would recommend focusing on:
- DSA and problem-solving
- SQL
- OOP + SOLID principles
- DBMS fundamentals
- Basic system design concepts
- Technologies/libraries mentioned in your resume
- Most importantly, know your projects inside out
Don't just memorize answers. Be prepared to explain why you used something, how it works, and what your actual contribution was.
All the best to everyone preparing!
Keep grinding.
My onboarding is scheduled for 19 October. If anyone from Hyderabad or Telangana has the same onboarding date, feel free to comment/connect here or join my channel The Optimal Flow!
