Summary
I attended an Infosys interview that focused heavily on my project, AWS, Python, React, and related technologies, and it highlighted gaps in my backend framework knowledge.

Infosys Interview Experience — 2 YOE
Sharing my recent Infosys interview experience for candidates with around 2 years of experience.
The interview mainly focused on my project, AWS architecture, Python, React, authentication, SQL, CI/CD, testing, and AI-assisted development.
Project & Architecture
- Explain your project architecture.
- Are you using Redux or any state management in React?
- What type of database are you using?
Python
- What is shallow copy and deep copy in Python?
- What is
map()in Python? - What is
filter()in Python? - What are
*argsand**kwargsin Python? - Have you worked with Flask or FastAPI?
I was mainly using plain Python in my Lambda functions, and I had limited exposure to backend frameworks. The interviewer specifically suggested learning at least one framework such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
Authentication & Authorization
- How are you authenticating and authorizing users in your project?
- What is SSO?
- What is OAuth 2.0?
- What are the different types of authentication?
- After authentication in the frontend, how do you verify the Bearer token in the backend?
SQL
- Find the second-highest salary from a table.
AWS / CloudWatch
- If there is an error in Lambda/CloudWatch, how do you resolve it?
- Do you copy the entire CloudWatch error into an AI tool?
AI-Assisted Development
- Are you using any AI tools in your development?
- How are you using AI tools?
- Are you directly copying the code generated by AI?
- Once code is generated by AI, how do you verify it?
- What limitations are there when using AI tools?
GitHub / CI/CD / Testing
- Have you written any GitHub Actions workflows?
- What CI/CD are you using?
- Are you using Jenkins or Kubernetes?
- Are you writing unit test cases?
- After raising a PR, how does your lead review it?

My Takeaway
The interview was heavily based on my actual project, but the interviewer also tested whether I had broader knowledge beyond the technologies I was directly using.
My biggest gap was backend framework knowledge. I was comfortable with Python and AWS Lambda, but I had not worked with frameworks like Flask or FastAPI.
The main takeaway for me is that having project experience with AWS and plain Python is not enough. I need to strengthen my backend fundamentals, learn a framework properly, and understand CI/CD, testing, authentication, and API development more deeply.
