Summary

I went through two rounds of interviews at Visa for a Staff SWE position in Bangalore, but was not selected.

Full Experience

Round 1 : DSA Round

All code was done in java

q1) LinkedList intersection.

q2) Longest subarray without repeating characters.

Round 2 : HLD + LLD

Design a payment system, focusing on payment states, various payment methods, durable execution and retries.

This round I feel was unfair from the beginning, too many requirements and the interviewer wanted both HLD and LLD.

I was able to meet primary requirements in HLD and LLD both. I was able to code the main entities and service class along with strategy pattern for various processes related to various states and different payment methods. Whatever components I had drawn for the HLD, I directly implemented them as LLD to maintain consistency of my design.

I'd say I did quite well considering the fact that I was short of time and had to cover multiple requirements which needed both HLD and LLD.

It's unfortunate that I was rejected even though I was able to cover most of the things in both HLD and LLD.

No feedback was provided.
