Salesforce SMTS Interview Experience
Had a recent interview with Salesforce for SMTS.
LLD + HLD (90 mins):
Designed a Notification Service, but it was far from the usual template. More like real-world systems (think Klaviyo) - heavy focus on:
- Data ingestion from clients (Amazon/Zomato-type)
- Event processing + filtering logic
- Scalability & extensibility
Honestly, a very tough and ambiguous round. Took time just to fully understand the problem.
DSA:
- Path Sum (tree)
- Diameter of an acyclic undirected graph (tree)
Both required clean, executable code.
Overall:
Design round was the hardest. Focus on real-world systems, not just standard questions.
Good learning experience.
Verdict: IMO, won't clear it!

Diameter of an Acyclic Undirected Graph (Tree)
Given a tree (an acyclic undirected graph), compute the length (number of edges) of the longest path between any two nodes in the tree.
