Netapp | Senior Software Engineer | Bengaluru | Rejected
Summary
I interviewed for a Senior Software Engineer position at Netapp in Bengaluru; the 45‑minute first round consisted of a spiral matrix traversal and a rotate‑matrix question, and I was ultimately rejected.
Full Experience
I interviewed at Netapp recently.
1st Round:
Q1. Spiral matrix traversal Q2. Rotate matrix by 90 degrees
Their interview duration is 45 mins and post the introduction and the 1st question solution, 35 mins. was spent so negligible time left for the 2nd question as there has to be the "Do you have any questions for me" part as well at the end of the interview but MF chose to ask rotate matrix and in that he wanted to put the rotated matrix in a new array not do it in-place.
He is like can you quickly write the code for this. I tried but there were a few bugs.
Interview Questions (2)
Spiral Matrix Traversal
Given a 2D matrix, return all its elements in spiral order (clockwise, starting from the top‑left corner).
Rotate Matrix 90 Degrees (New Array)
Given a 2D matrix, rotate it 90 degrees clockwise and return a new matrix (the rotation must be performed by creating a new array, not in‑place).
