Summary

I interviewed for an SDE 3 position at Apple, completed a Java project round, answered Kafka questions, and designed a rate limiter, after which I progressed to later rounds.

Full Experience

Round 1 -

A Java project was loaded around 8 test cases are there . The idea was to solve them each one by one and explain the rationale behind that.

Round 2 -

Lot of kafka related questions

For Eg Question — Kafka: Consumer is down / producer keeps producing

Interviewer scenario:

Producer is producing messages, but the consumer is down. Messages will keep accumulating. Kafka brokers have finite memory/storage. What can we do to mitigate this?

Question 2 -

Verbally Designing the Rate Limiter and from that how you will implement the sliding window algo . I choosed Redis

After Clearing above i was moved to R3,R4,R5
