How it went

This week I completed a technical phone screen with LinkedIn. Position was based in US. Interviewer was very nice, calm and cool. First 15-20 minutes discussion about previous work. Information about the team. Followed by 2 leetcode medium questions.

  1. Nested Weight List Sum 2
  2. Valid Number - with followup discussion if exponential numbers would be allowed

It was on coderpad, so you cannot execute your code, have to dry run after implementing it

  1. 01

    Nested List Weight Sum II

Data Structures & Algorithms · Medium

Given a nested list of integers, return the sum of all integers weighted by their depth from bottom up. The weight is defined as the inverse of the depth: integers on the deepest level have weight 1, the next level up weight 2, and so on.

  2. 02

    Valid Number

Data Structures & Algorithms · Medium

Determine if a given string can be interpreted as a valid decimal number. The string may contain digits, signs, a decimal point, and an exponent part (e or E). Discuss whether numbers with exponential notation should be considered valid.
