TCS Oncampus Interview Experience(2026 Batch)

Hello Guys. I am M S Leelaprasad. I got selected for prime interview in TCS NQT for Priority Institues(On campus). My interview date was on 31st dec 2025. Actually i got placed in cognizant genc next role in october and i gave trail for tcs . Since i got selected for prime, i was very happy and very eager to attend interview. But prime interview is literally hell for above average students like me. so we went to tcs company in chennai to attend the interview. The thing is there would be a table with 4 chairs. 1 hr, 1 mhr, 1 tech hr. 4rth seat is for me..but the thing is it did not happen in a single room. It happened in a hall where multiple tables and multiple interviews were going on. It's like a market and i need to shout to answer my question there. I got so much irritation .

First the hr asked me to introduce myself and what do you know about tcs. I answered correctly but i lost my fluency due to the disturbances of other interviews. Then 2 hr asked me whether i remember the questions that they asked in nqt. I said i remember 1 . Then he said to write the code. It was longest palindrome substring in a string. I wrote and passed the paper to tech hr. She gave me another on spot question and i have solved it in 2 mins ( partial answer). Then she asked me do you know python? Then i said i know it but my primary language is java. Then she asked me do u know about spring and springboot. I am guy who studied dsa in my entire final year. so i said i am strong in dsa not in development. Then she asked me about my projects and atlast she asked about MERN. I did not explore mern yet because i always focussed on dsa and logic building.

Then she suggested me to improve development skills and appreciated me for being good in java and dsa. Then she said you can leave..I was in shock and i came back.. Here I literally did not like the way of interview conducted and also my performance. The hr did not even give time to ask queries from myside.. actually prime interview should happen atleast 30 mins. but mine got finished in 15mins. They did not even ask the about the skills or tech questions from the skills mentioned in my resume. i was so upset. I got my result on 11th jan 2026 and got selected for digital role. Among 36 members only 1 girl selected for prime in our campus. So my suggestion is you should be good in developement too. Prime role is for direct project. So you should have skills to deal with it. But do not lose hope.. All the best guys ❤️
