Summary

I received an offer from TCS for the System Engineer Trainee role after an interview that covered behavioral questions, OOP concepts, language comparisons, JIT, an SQL query, basic string DSA, and deep learning topics.

Full Experience

Recently, I received my offer letter from TCS for the System Engineer Trainee role.

I wanted to share my interview experience because it might help someone preparing for their interview.

Questions I was asked:

  • Tell me about yourself
  • Four pillars of OOPs
  • Java vs C++
  • What is JIT? - I couldn’t answer
  • SQL query for maximum salary
  • Basic DSA question on strings
  • Deep Learning layers
  • Difference between AI, ML & DL

I was nervous before the interview, but once it started, I stayed confident. The preparation I had done really helped me.

My biggest takeaway:

  • Focus on your resume.
  • Know everything you mention on your resume.
  • Revise your fundamentals.
  • Practice basic DSA & SQL.
  • Be confident, even if you don't know every answer.
  • Don't just answer questions — have a conversation with the interviewer.

You don't need to know everything. Good preparation + confidence + communication can take you a long way.

Hope this helps someone preparing for their next interview.
