Hiring Flow – LTIMindtree
The selection process consisted of 3 major rounds:
- Online Assessment
- Technical Interview
- HR Interview
Round 1 – Online Assessment The assessment was divided into 3 sections, followed by a coding and English-speaking round.
- Aptitude The aptitude assessment consisted of:
- Quantitative Aptitude: 20 questions
- Logical Reasoning: 25 questions
- Verbal Ability: 20 questions Difficulty: Easy to Medium Tip: Time management is important, especially in the quantitative and logical sections. Practice questions under a time limit rather than only solving them casually.
- Coding Round Questions: 2 coding problems Difficulty: Easy to Medium The coding questions focused primarily on fundamental programming and problem‑solving concepts. Preparation areas:
- Arrays
- Strings
- Basic searching and sorting
- Loops and conditions
- Basic problem‑solving You don't necessarily need advanced DSA, but you should be comfortable converting a problem statement into working code quickly.
- English Speaking Round An English‑speaking/communication assessment was conducted after the aptitude and coding sections. Focus areas:
- Fluency
- Pronunciation
- Grammar
- Sentence formation
- Confidence while speaking Tip: Speak naturally and clearly. Good communication and confidence matter more than sounding sophisticated.
Round 2 – Technical Interview The technical interview focused mainly on fundamentals, projects, coding, SQL, and DSA basics.
Project Discussion Questions were asked about the projects mentioned on my CV. Be prepared to explain:
- What problem your project solves
- Technologies used
- Your specific contribution
- How the application works
- Challenges faced
- Why you chose particular technologies
- Possible improvements Tip: Don't put anything on your resume that you cannot explain technically. Interviewers can easily go deeper into projects.
Coding Question I was asked an array‑based coding question related to merging two sorted arrays. [leetcode 88] The interviewer was interested not only in the solution but also in my approach and complexity analysis.
SQL I was also asked to write an SQL query based on basic database concepts. It is therefore important to revise SELECT, WHERE, GROUP BY, HAVING, ORDER BY, JOINs, aggregate functions, and basic subqueries.
Time & Space Complexity The interviewer specifically discussed time and space complexity. Questions included:
- Time and space complexity of the coding solution
- Complexity of Linear Search
- Complexity of Binary Search
- When to use Linear Search vs Binary Search
- Conditions required for Binary Search Tip: Don't just memorize Big‑O complexities. Understand why an algorithm has that complexity and when it is actually useful.
Round 3 – HR Interview The final round was an HR/behavioral discussion. The questions were relatively open‑ended and included:
- Tell me about yourself
- Strengths and weaknesses
- Teamwork‑related situations
- Situational questions to understand how I would react to different workplace situations and challenges. Focus areas: problem‑solving, adaptability, teamwork, communication, professional attitude.
About LTIMindtree I was also asked questions related to LTIMindtree, so candidates should know the basics about the company before appearing for the interview. Research what LTIMindtree does, its major services, business areas, why you want to join, and why you are suitable for the role.
My Preparation Tips For the Assessment:
- Practice quantitative aptitude with a timer.
- Focus on logical reasoning and common patterns.
- Don't neglect verbal ability.
- Practice a few easy‑to‑medium coding problems regularly.
For the Technical Round:
- Prioritize fundamentals over advanced DSA.
- Revise arrays, strings, searching, sorting, time & space complexity, OOPs, SQL, DBMS basics, and your resume/projects.
- Know your projects extremely well; anything on your CV can become a follow‑up question.
For the HR Round:
- Be confident but not overconfident.
- Answer honestly.
- Prepare common behavioral and situational questions.
- Research LTIMindtree before the interview.
- Have a clear answer for "Why LTIMindtree?"
Interview Questions (1)
Merge Two Sorted Arrays
Given two sorted integer arrays nums1 and nums2, merge nums2 into nums1 as one sorted array. Assume that nums1 has enough space to hold additional elements from nums2. Implement an in‑place solution and discuss its time and space complexity.
Preparation Tips
Practice quantitative aptitude with a timer; focus on logical reasoning, verbal ability, and easy‑to‑medium coding problems. Review fundamentals: arrays, strings, searching, sorting, time & space complexity, OOP concepts, SQL and DBMS basics, and thoroughly know your projects. For HR, prepare common behavioral and situational questions and research the company's services and values.
