Summary

I attended a BarRaiser round for an SDE‑2 position at Kotak Mahindra Bank, where I was asked a longest common prefix problem, an event ticket booking system design, and consistency questions, and I feel I performed well despite anticipating a possible rejection.

Full Experience

I had BarRaiser (third party company) round scheduled for Kotak Mahindra Bank for SDE-2 Position. Questions asked:

1.Find the longest common prefix of the given strings. I provided the binary search and trie approach.

The interviewer was still pushing me for the only approach he had idea about.

After a lot of back and forth, he agreed for the binary search approach, but I could not run the code as it was failing to compile and interviewer asked me to move on.

2.Design Event ticket booking System LLD Asked about api design, db schema , class design, design patterns to be used.

Answered all the questions.

3.Strong consistency vs Eventual consistency CircuitBreaker. How to handle idempotency if user tries to click on the book seat button multiple times. And few distributed system questions which all I answered.

Overall I feel like I performed quite well, but from reading the past experiences I know that I am gonna get rejected.
