Got contacted by a recruiter from Instahyre for the role. **Online Assessment (Hackerrank):** Consisted of 2 mid-to-hard LeetCode-style questions, focusing on problem-solving and edge case handling. **Round 1 – Design Round (Hackerrank):** Tasked to design an Order Management System, implementing missing functionalities with provided classes/interfaces, followed by a discussion on approach and design decisions. **Round 2 – Application Design Round:** Designed a Bike Rental System, focusing on API Design, Database Schema Design, Sequence Diagram, and answering SQL queries (available/booked vehicles, overdue rentals). **Round 3 – Onsite Interviews:** **Hiring Manager (Engineering Manager):** Discussed current project, responsibilities, resume-based technical questions, Spring Boot concepts, deployment strategies, and scaling practices. **Senior Engineering Manager:** Short round covering “Why Wayfair?” and how I handle challenges, deadlines, and team collaboration. **Round 4 – HR Discussion:** Covered salary discussion, cultural fitment, and general behavioral questions. **Additional Round:** Due to an internal position change, I had another discussion with a Hiring Manager which included a deep dive into my current project and database design choices. The overall experience was structured and professional, with a heavy focus on design skills, clean architecture thinking, and real-world application knowledge.
