ZoomInfo SE II Interview Experience — Bangalore
Summary
I interviewed for an SDE II position at ZoomInfo in Bangalore, cleared all five rounds, and was offered the role, but I later declined the offer for another opportunity.
Full Experience
Hi everyone,
I recently interviewed for an SDE II role at ZoomInfo in Bangalore and wanted to share my interview experience with the community. Hopefully, this will be helpful for anyone preparing for ZoomInfo or similar SDE II-level interviews.
I got the opportunity through a referral, after which a recruiter from ZoomInfo reached out to me.
The process consisted of 5 rounds:
DSA / Coding LLD HLD / Technical Managerial Recruiter / Behavioral Psychometric Assessment
Round 1 — DSA / Coding
The first round was focused on basic DSA and problem-solving.
I was asked two coding problems:
- Print all the digits of a number
A straightforward problem where I had to extract and print each digit of a given number.
- Search in a Sorted Rotated Array
I was asked to find an element in a sorted rotated array.
The discussion was mainly around the approach, time complexity, and how to identify which half of the rotated array is sorted.
Overall, the round was focused on problem-solving fundamentals and understanding the approach rather than just writing code.
Round 2 — LLD
The LLD round started with a discussion about my current project and my day-to-day responsibilities.
The interviewer asked questions around:
What kind of challenges I face in my current project How much I usually code What kind of development work I handle My involvement in designing and implementing features
After that, we moved into some LLD and object-oriented design concepts.
We discussed concepts such as:
SOLID principles Singleton pattern Facade pattern
The interviewer didn't just ask for definitions. He asked me to explain these concepts with real-world examples and discuss where I had actually used them in my current project.
For example, we discussed scenarios where I had used a particular design pattern and why that approach made sense for that problem.
The important part of this round was being able to connect theoretical concepts with real project experience.
Round 3 — HLD / Technical Managerial Round
This round was mostly focused on my current project and my overall engineering approach.
The interviewer went quite deep into how I work on a task from beginning to deployment.
Some of the areas we discussed were:
How I handle new change requests Whom I approach when I need help with an issue My usual process for understanding and implementing a requirement How I approach writing code How code is reviewed How we deploy code Challenges I have faced during development and deployment
We also discussed a particular task from my current company and went through how I handled an issue in production.
The interviewer asked about a real production issue that I had investigated, including:
How I identified the issue How I approached debugging it What challenges I faced How I worked toward the fix
This round felt more like a discussion about my real engineering experience rather than a theoretical system-design interview.
Round 4 — Recruiter / Behavioral
The final round was with the recruiter and was primarily behavioral.
Some of the areas discussed were:
How I handle stress How I deal with challenging situations Why I am looking to leave my current company Why I am interested in ZoomInfo What I expect to gain from the new opportunity How I think the role/company would benefit my career
This was more of an open discussion about my career, motivation, and expectations.
The round was non-eliminating.
Round 5 — Psychometric Assessment
The final round was a Psychometric Assessment, which was non-eliminating.
I was given a link to complete the assessment online. It had several time-bound questions, mainly around:
Pattern recognition Simple addition and subtraction Quick logical/reasoning-based questions Identifying patterns and answering within a limited time
The questions themselves were relatively simple, but the time constraint made it important to answer quickly and accurately.
This was not a coding or technical interview and was mainly an assessment of reasoning, pattern recognition, and response speed.
Final Result
I was selected for the SDE II position at ZoomInfo, Bangalore.
However, I ultimately declined the offer because I received a better opportunity elsewhere.
Overall, the interview process was a good mix of DSA, LLD, practical engineering experience, technical/managerial discussions, and a psychometric assessment.
Interview Questions (2)
Print All Digits of a Number
Given an integer, extract each digit and print them in order (typically from most significant to least significant). The solution should handle positive numbers and may consider handling zero as a special case.
Search in a Sorted Rotated Array
Given a sorted array that has been rotated at an unknown pivot, find the index of a target element (or determine that it is not present). The discussion should cover how to identify which half of the array is properly sorted and the appropriate binary‑search‑like approach with O(log n) time complexity.
