I interviewed for the SDE1 role at Zeta in Bangalore and was successfully selected after three rounds covering Data Structures & Algorithms, Technical skills (Java, DBMS, API Design), and a Hiring Manager round focused on projects, LLD, and behavioral aspects.

YOE: 1 Current Company: Finance College: Tier 3 Level: Software Development Engineer 1 (SDE1) Location: Bangalore
Round 1: Data Structures & Algorithms (1 hr) The interviewer was extremely kind and focused more on how I approached the problems and what I could learn from them rather than just testing my raw skills. I was given two problems one was Sudoku solver and other was a graph problem. I was able to complete both problems well within the allotted time.
Round 2: Technical (Java + DBMS + API Design) ā 1 Hour This round started with a deep dive into one of the projects from my resume. I had to explain the entities, code flow, and architecture of the project. The next part involved designing CRUD APIs of a payment system. I was asked to define the API contracts, the database schema, and how Iād handle concurrency in transactions. I had prior experience working with this in my previous company.
Round 3: Hiring Manager Round (Project + LLD + Behavioral) ā 1.5 Hours First 30 mins were focused on my resume, with questions on projects, previous work experience, and some behavioral questions. Than some questions related to Java like deadlocks, thread pool etc, and some sql queries.
Verdict: Selected
