My Vymo Interview Experience — Feeling Disappointed but Sharing for Awareness

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my recent interview experience with Vymo, which took place around September–October 2025. With 2 years of experience, I was genuinely excited about this opportunity as the role perfectly aligned with my skills. The process initially seemed very promising.
I went through five distinct rounds:
- Online Assessment: This involved solving two medium-level Data Structures & Algorithms questions.
- Machine Coding: I was tasked with building a functional Snake & Ladder game, emphasizing extensibility.
- LLD + HLD: This round focused on designing a Room Management System, including database schema and query design.
- Managerial Round: This discussion revolved around my previous projects and my problem-solving approach.
- Hiring Manager Round: A general conversation about my work experience and career goals.
After successfully completing each round, I received positive feedback, and the HR even confirmed my selection multiple times. They verbally offered me a compensation package of 15–16 LPA, which was acceptable given my current salary of 13 LPA and my expectation of around 19 LPA base. I was thrilled, believing my hard work had finally paid off.
However, a period of anxious waiting ensued. Days stretched into weeks, and despite my consistent follow-ups, the HR repeatedly stated that the offer was "under approval." Finally, after numerous attempts, she called back with an update that shattered my hopes: the budget had supposedly changed, and they could only extend an offer of 9 + 1 LPA. This figure was significantly lower than my current salary.
My disappointment wasn't just about the reduced compensation, but the unprofessional handling of the situation. I had invested countless hours preparing for and completing five challenging rounds, only to have my selection confirmed multiple times, just to face such a drastic last-minute change. While I understand companies face budget constraints, I believe transparency and clear communication, especially regarding compensation, should be prioritized from the start. This experience was disheartening, as it felt like my time and effort were not respected. I'm sharing this to raise awareness about such practices and to support others who might have faced similar situations.
