Reliance Industries Ltd || RIL Interview Experience & Questions || Summer Intern || Campus Hire

Hello everyone, I am Anjali Gupta, a 3rd-year Electrical Engineering student (2020-2024) at NIT Jalandhar. I am excited to share my internship interview experience with Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), which visited our campus for a drive targeting core branches like EE, ECE, ME, CHE, and TT.

Round 1: Written Test

The first round was a written examination divided into two parts: Aptitude and Domain Knowledge. The Aptitude test lasted half an hour and included 30 questions covering Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning. The Domain Knowledge section, also half an hour, had 50 questions specific to my Electrical Engineering branch, focusing on topics like Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, and other core subjects.

After clearing this test, our placement committee announced the results, and selected candidates were asked to fill out a Campus Application form. This form mainly asked for basic details and several HR-related questions. I've noted these questions because they often form the basis for later HR interviews, so preparing answers for them is crucial.

Round 2: Technical Round

The second round was a technical interview conducted at the TPO office via Microsoft Teams to ensure a cheating-free environment. There were two interviewers. I was the fourth candidate in my panel. After my introduction, where I mentioned my project, the interviewers, recognizing that my friends and I were working on the same project, primarily focused on my specific role and how we managed our shared work.

When asked about my favorite subject, I chose Electrical Machines. This led to questions on synchronous motors, generators, the difference between synchronous and induction motors, AC and DC generators, transformer losses and their reduction, and power factor. Due to my project, they also asked about AWS and other basic questions related to Power Electronics and Electrical Machines. The interviewers were attentive, often asking follow-up questions in parallel. This round concluded in about 10-15 minutes, with the interviewer wishing me luck.

Round 3: HR Round

The final round was an HR interview, also with two interviewers. They started by asking for a brief introduction, followed by questions about my long-term goals, hobbies, and whether I intended to pursue higher studies or additional courses. Interestingly, they also inquired if I had any family members in government service, or working as a doctor or CA. When asked why I wanted to work for Reliance, I shared my interest in the specific project they were hiring for. This round lasted about 10-12 minutes.

After a few days, the results were declared, and I was selected! Out of 45 students who cleared the written test, 11 students ultimately secured the internship. I hope my experience and the questions I recalled will be helpful to others.
