Summary

I successfully interviewed off-campus for a Software Engineer role at Raja Software Labs as a fresher, navigating through multiple technical rounds that included DSA questions and an HR discussion. My efforts led to an SDE Intern offer with the potential for a full-time position.

Full Experience

I applied for an off-campus Software Engineer role at Raja Software Labs through their careers email, which I found on their website. After about 8 days, I received a response with an aptitude test and an Online Assessment link.

Online Assessment

The OA consisted of 5 easy-level coding questions covering topics like arrays and strings. I cleared this round, which led to an invitation for the first technical interview.

Round 1: Technical (30 mins)

This was a DSA round. The interviewer was friendly, and after our introductions, he asked me two DSA questions. The first was to determine if a given number is a leap year, and the second was to find the second largest element in an array. I solved both problems quickly, and the round concluded early.

Round 2: Technical (1.5 hours)

This was another DSA round where I was asked four DSA questions. I don't recall the exact problems, but they were generally of easy to medium difficulty and involved topics like arrays and strings.

Round 3: Technical + HR (1 hour)

This round was with a team lead from RSL. We introduced ourselves, and then we had a discussion for about 15-20 minutes covering the technologies I had learned and general HR topics. During this, a power cut occurred at my end, which unfortunately ended the call. The interviewer was very understanding, so I requested a reschedule, and he kindly agreed. In the rescheduled session, we continued with a DSA question related to matrices. I was able to come up with a solution and even spotted and corrected an error in my own logic. Afterward, he asked me a puzzle, but I struggled to explain my approach. Despite that, he seemed satisfied with the overall interview performance.

Outcome

A few days later, I received a call from HR confirming my selection. They offered me an SDE Intern position and mentioned that I would receive a full-time offer letter at the end of the internship. I accepted the offer and joined as an SDE Intern during the final semester of my degree.
