CoinDCX | SSE-1 | Interview Experience
Summary
I interviewed for a Senior Software Engineer role at CoinDCX, completing three rounds that covered DSA, system design, and a fitment interview.
Full Experience
Sharing my interview experience at CoinDCX for the SSE-1 (SDE-2) position.
YOE: 4 years
Round 1 - Pre-Screening (DSA + LLD)
Taken by Intervue Duration: 1 hour Difficulty: Medium
DSA 1 Wiggle Sort II
DSA 2 Given p, q, and r, with two operations allowed: Pick either p or q and increment it by 1. Pick either p or q and divide it by r. The operations can be performed any number of times until p == q. Find the minimum number of operations required.
LLD Designed the classes, data entities, and lifecycle for a Food Ordering System.
Round 2 - System Design (LLD + HLD)
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes Difficulty: Hard
I was asked to design Zomato. The problem was quite open-ended, and I was given the freedom to cover different aspects of the system. The interviewer went deep into multiple design components and their trade-offs. This made the round quite challenging but also very interesting and productive. After the HLD discussion, I was asked to design the LLD for the main service - Order Management System (OMS). The focus was mainly on data entities, class design and responsibilities and interactions between classes. I was also asked to design Food Rescue feature of Zomato.
Round 3 - Fitment Round with EM
Duration: 45 minutes
The round started with introductions, followed by questions about my background and projects. This was followed by behavioral and motivation-based questions, including:
- How do you handle conflicts with a co-worker?
- Why do you want to change your company?
- Why do you want to join CoinDCX?
- What are you expecting from the organization?
- What are some things you learned in your previous organization that you would like to continue in your next organization?
- What are some things you would like to discontinue?
Hope this helps others preparing for interviews. Good luck!
Interview Questions (3)
Wiggle Sort II
Given an unsorted array, rearrange it such that nums[0] < nums[1] > nums[2] < nums[3] ... (alternating less‑greater pattern).
Minimum Operations to Equalize p and q
Given three integers p, q, and r, you may perform the following operations any number of times: 1) Pick either p or q and increment it by 1. 2) Pick either p or q and divide it by r. The goal is to make p equal to q using the minimum number of operations. Find that minimum number.
Design Zomato (Food Ordering System)
Design an end‑to‑end food ordering platform similar to Zomato. The task includes high‑level design covering system components, trade‑offs, and scalability, followed by detailed low‑level design of the Order Management System (OMS) focusing on data entities, class responsibilities, and interactions, as well as a Food Rescue feature.
