SWE II Amazon phone screen
Summary
I had an Amazon phone screen for a SWE II role that included a brief introduction, a system‑design discussion, and a DSA question (LeetCode 621: Task Scheduler) which I couldn’t solve in time.
Full Experience
Had my Amazon phone screen recently.
1. Started with a brief introduction and a discussion about my resume for around 10 minutes.
2. Then we had an system-design kind of discussion based on my previous experience for about 30 minutes.
3. I was asked a DSA question — 621: Task Scheduler — but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to come up with the solution on time.
The interviewer was very supportive and helpful throughout the interview.
Hope this helps others preparing for the Amazon phone screen. I was expecting more focus on Leadership Principles and DSA, but my experience was quite different from what I have seen in other interview experiences.
