Summary

I completed all four rounds of the Amazon SDE1 interview loop in India, including DSA and leadership principle rounds, and am currently awaiting the final decision.

Full Experience

Hi everyone,

I’m a 2026 graduate (from Tier 1 engineering institute, having 6 month internship experience at product based company) going through the Amazon SDE1 hiring process in India through an AUTA hiring drive. I’ve now completed all 4 rounds and wanted to share my experience and get some perspective from people who have gone through the process recently.

My process so far( x being starting date)

Aug x - Onsite

Round 1: DSA + Leadership Principles, taken by 2 SDEs. DSA included a Stock Span / Stack problem and a Graph BFS + Topological Sort / DAG dependency-based minimum-time problem. There were also LP questions. I felt this round went quite well.

Round 3 (HM Round): Software Development Manager, mainly resume/project deep dive + a simple coding/problem-solving question for team fitment. This also went quite well.

After the onsite, my recruiter told me that my next rounds would be online.

Aug x+5 - Virtual Round R2

I was asked 2 DSA + project/resume questions. I solved both DSA problems and handled the follow-ups, TC/SC, dry runs and alternative approaches.

Q1 was Queue using 2 Stacks, where the interviewer focused on multiple approach discussions and asked me to implement one of the approaches we discussed.

Q2 was a non-standard heap/greedy problem (I don’t remember the exact problem now).

In the second DSA problem, I had a few implementation mistakes in the first attempt, but the interviewer only asked me to check once, and I identified and corrected them myself. Around 55 minutes were spent mainly on DSA, followed by project-based questions, where I felt slightly less confident on 1-2 questions.

Sep x+25 - Bar Raiser (BR)

The BR was mostly behavioral/Leadership Principles, along with technical questions related to my internship and a coding question based on a variant of the Celebrity Problem. Overall, I felt this round went well.

So my complete sequence was:

Aug x: R1 + R3 -> Aug x+5: R2 -> Sep x+25: BR

I’m now waiting for the final outcome.

How long does it take to receive the final result after the BR/debrief? And based on the overall experience above, how would you assess my chances of clearing the loop?

Would really appreciate any recent experiences. Thanks!

Interview Questions (4)

1.

Stock Span Problem

Data Structures & Algorithms

Implement the classic Stock Span problem using a stack. For each day, given the price, compute the number of consecutive previous days where the price was less than or equal to the current day's price.

2.

Minimum Time to Complete Tasks in a DAG

Data Structures & Algorithms

Given a directed acyclic graph representing task dependencies, compute the minimum overall time to finish all tasks, assuming each task takes one unit of time and can start when all its predecessors are completed.

3.

Implement Queue Using Two Stacks

Data Structures & Algorithms

Design a queue data structure using two stacks. Provide enqueue and dequeue operations with amortized O(1) time.

4.

Variant of the Celebrity Problem

Data Structures & Algorithms

Given a group of people, find the celebrity (a person known by everyone but who knows no one) with modifications to the classic definition as presented in the interview.
