Summary

I interviewed for an Amazon Sr. SDE (L6) phone screen, faced two leadership principle questions and a coding problem on topological sort with cycle detection, and was ultimately rejected.

Full Experience

Recently gave the interview for Amazon Sr. SDE (L6) and was asked the following questions in phone screen round:

2 LP questions around Learn and Be Curious, Customer Obsession and Ownership with follow up questions.

Coding question:

  1. Topological sort and finding the cycle in the graph.

I spent some time in finding the cycle and could not finish the code in time for the topological sort.

Result: Rejected

Interview Questions (1)

Topological Sort with Cycle Detection

Data Structures & Algorithms

Implement a topological sort on a directed graph. While performing the sort, detect if the graph contains a cycle. If a cycle exists, report it; otherwise, return a valid topological ordering of the vertices.
