I received an offer for a Software Engineer Intern role at Stripe India. This is a 6-month winter internship. The monthly stipend is ₹2,00,000. I have the option between a hotel stay or ₹74,000/month for housing. A one-time relocation allowance of ₹40,000 is provided. Benefits include free meals, daily cab service, and wellness reimbursements up to ₹8,000/month.

I had a virtual onsite interview experience for an intern role at Stripe. The interview consisted of three levels of coding challenges: Level 1: This stage involved computing the total price based on an order object and a country-specific flat shipping table. I needed to calculate the total price based on each item’s unit price and quantity. This level mainly tested JSON parsing and basic loop logic. Level 2: Starting from this stage, shipping was no longer a fixed price but dynamically varying with “incremental cost.” Each product could have multiple cost brackets. I had to determine which bracket the current quantity fell into, then multiply the corresponding unit price by the quantity and sum it up. The tricky parts were keeping the logic clear and handling edge cases correctly, such as `maxQuantity = null` for “no upper bound.” This level was clearly the logical core and the most nerve-racking part. Level 3: On top of Level 2, this stage introduced a type concept with two calculation modes: fixed and incremental. Incremental was the same as in the previous level, while fixed meant that within a certain quantity bracket, the total price was fixed and did not increase with the quantity. First vest takes 1y and will have to probably wait an additional year for buybacks, keep this in mind. More Details: * Stripe is pretty small in India. To prevent doxxing myself, I will not be sharing interview experience or benefits details * To succeed in interview you need to have hands on experience with REST APIs and day to day coding & debugging as the rounds are very practical based. * DSA is asked but there is no focus on time/space complexity, instead it's on readability and structure.

Backend SDE 2 at Stripe in Bangalore, with a base salary of 50LPA, stock bonus of $40K/33L per annum, target bonus of 5L (can go up to 10L), and joining bonus of 7.5L.
