I am also curious about the usual appraisals at Paytm, both normally and during promotion.

I hold a B.Tech degree. I have 2 years of experience. The offer from Paytm for a Software Engineer role in Bangalore was received in July 2025. My base salary is 21 Lakhs Per Annum. I also received a relocation/signing bonus of 1.5 Lakhs. My total compensation is 22.5 Lakhs Per Annum. Stock bonus and other bonuses were not applicable. Benefits were not specified. I applied to Paytm via referral. I am currently interviewing and seeking additional offers for comparison.

Recruiter mentioned that considering only your fixed compensation(8 lakh), the max they can offer is 10 lakh as base. My say is if the current compensation is already low then any hike looks great only in percentages and not absolute numbers. Also, HR directly said since company isn't listed so they won't consider ESOPs as per part of compensation to include it in the hike :( Please guide me how to proceed because I know this is way less than the market standard and what Paytm pays. I don't want to be lowballed again.
