I received an offer for a Backend Engineer (L2) role. My base salary offer is 43.5 LPA. The total compensation, including salary and bonus, is 50.5 LPA. The role is located in Gurugram.

My yearly compensation is JPY 9 million, which translates to 53.75 LPA INR. I will receive a relocation package of 900K JPY, which is approximately 5.3L JPY. My total compensation is 59.13 LPA for the first year, and 53.75 LPA second year onwards. I would be required to move near Tokyo, where the living cost is 3-4x compared to Bengaluru. Moving to Japan offers better living standards and a change of way of life. PayPay gives 4-10% raises to employees and offers incentives for those rated in the top 90% among the team. The bottom 10% may get reduced pay or be asked to leave (similar to URA/PiP at Amazon). From Glassdoor, it appears work at PayPay may be competitive.
