Summary

I recently went through a three-round technical interview process for a Technical Lead role at Redbus. Despite my strong performance in all rounds, as I successfully tackled the technical puzzles and system design challenges, I was unfortunately ghosted by HR after receiving an 'on hold' status without any clear feedback or final decision.

Full Experience

My interview journey with Redbus for a Technical Lead position spanned approximately two weeks and involved three distinct technical rounds. I felt I performed exceptionally well in all stages, confidently answering the technical puzzles and system design questions. The interviewers were consistently friendly and helpful, readily clarifying problem statements when needed, which made for insightful discussions.

However, the overall experience had several significant drawbacks. Firstly, there was a complete lack of interview feedback, leaving me in the dark about my strengths and weaknesses. I had to persistently follow up with HR for updates. Secondly, I experienced a frustrating instance where an interviewer failed to show up for a scheduled round, wasting an entire day and requiring further intervention with HR to reschedule. Most dishearteningly, despite what I perceived as exceptional performance across all three technical rounds, I was ultimately ghosted. The HR initially informed me that my candidature was 'on hold' as they were 'evaluating some more candidates' and promised an update by the weekend. After that, there was absolute silence. It's incredibly disappointing to invest time and effort, perform well, and then receive no clear communication or explanation for the rejection. I believe companies shouldn't waste candidates' time if another candidate is already in the final stages or hired, and I remain curious about the actual passing criteria if interview performance isn't the primary factor.
