Summary
I interviewed for an SDE2 role at PhysicsWallah, which included DS-Algo, System Design, and a Hiring Manager discussion. Despite successfully navigating the technical rounds, I was ultimately rejected after a month-long process.
Full Experience
I received a call from a consultancy regarding an SDE2 opening at PhysicsWallah, and I found the overall experience at the company to be quite insightful. The interview process consisted of three rounds.
The first round focused on Data Structures and Algorithms, complemented by general questions from Computer Science fundamentals and my specific tech stack. After this round, I was informed that I had cleared it and was invited for the next stage.
The second round was a System Design challenge. The interviewer tasked me with designing a database and writing APIs for a notification system. I successfully cleared this round as well, progressing to the final stage.
The third and final round was with the Hiring Manager. This was primarily a discussion about my current roles and responsibilities within my existing organization, how I approach my work, and task allocation. I also took the opportunity to ask questions about PhysicsWallah. This round was relatively brief, lasting about 20 minutes.
Following the entire process, I was later contacted and informed that I was rejected, as they had decided to move forward with another candidate. I was quite disappointed with their decision, especially since I was told I had cleared all the technical rounds. The entire interview process spanned approximately one month.
Interview Questions (1)
The interviewer presented a scenario and asked me to design a notification system. This involved detailing the database schema and outlining the necessary APIs for its functionality.
